John Pratt

I grew up in a small rural town in North Dakota, the town had the only stop light in the entire county.  I graduated from Concordia College in 1984 with a degree in business administration.  In 1987 I moved to the Twin Cities and started my career in finance and eventually moved into heavy-duty vocational truck sales.

In 1999 I entered the world of equipment finance.  Throughout my career I have focused on vocational and specialty vehicle financing and program development with equipment manufacturers.  A bulk of my career was spent at Wells Fargo Equipment Finance where I was instrumental in developing their specialty vehicle group with an emphasis on the solid waste industry.  I worked closely with manufacturers, dealers and direct customers helping them with their financing needs.  I also spent time in their dealer group that provided financing for truck dealers and their customers as well as providing lines of credit for truck dealers that had their own finance/lease company.

I am excited to join AP Equipment Financing as senior vice-president of business development.  In this role I am committed to putting a veteran sales team together and growing the footprint of AP Equipment Finance.  With my knowledge and years of experience I look forward to being a mentor for the other team members. I reside in Maple Grove, MN with my wife of 35 years, Shelly.  We treasure our time with our son Joshua, his wife Casey and their beautiful son, our grandson, Kairo.
